Wonderful Maunsel House Wedding
I recently had the privilege in photographing the wedding of Louisa & Mike at the amazing Maunsel House in Somerset. Louisa and Mike are a very well travelled couple and are currently helping to run the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia. So as you’ll imagine they just had to be an element of Africa included in the days proceedings. The day was bright and as you’ll imagine the colours were vivid, Maunsel House was looking at its finest. The African feel was supplied by fabulous African dancers, who led Louise out across the Maunsel House plaines to her awaiting husband to be.
A lovely civil ceremony was followed by the wedding breakfast under the beautiful Maunsel House wedding pergola, which was beautifully decorated by the Fabulous florist Dinah Taylor . The catering was supplied by the sumptuous Sticky Date Catering. I was luck enough to spend 20 minutes photographing Mike & Louisa after the wedding breakfast and it’s at this time when I like to create a little fine art with my couples and I think we created between the three of us some special images. What I particularly liked about Mike & Louisa’s wedding, is they had their 1st dance outside under Maunsel House’s giant trees. It was simply magical just as the sun was going down.
Dancing continued in Maunsel House’s ballroom with live music from a band I can’t quite remember, but the sound was fantastic and the guests loved it. The day was capped off with an amazing Firework display. I rigged up my Canon MK2 to film the display and you can view some of it here. It’s no Spielberg production, but you’ll get the idea around the spelled of the display. Shortly after the wedding Mike and Louisa returned back to Namibia to continue their conservation of Cheetahs in Namibia. I keep dropping hints for me to photograph their next cheetah fund brochure, but I’m still awaiting my call. A great day was had by all.
