Our business was founded in 2005 by Martin Hill, regarded by professional colleagues as one of the most exciting and well-respected photographers in the Southwest.

A passion for photography

Martin was born in north Devon in 1968, and spent the early part of his working life serving with the Royal Marines. On leaving the services in 2001 he put his supervisory and organisational skills to good use by joining the NHS as a manager. However, at the same time he began to develop his passion for photography, finally taking the ultimate step of converting a much-loved hobby into a career after undergoing extensive professional training.

Martin is particularly interested in creating stunning photographs of people, taking the trouble to put his “clients” at their ease to achieve the most relaxed and spontaneous images for maximum vitality and realism. It is often said that the way he makes you feel comfortable and relaxed is as if being photographed by an old friend. It may especially be this skill which has helped Martin create some outstanding wedding photography and private portraiture, winning multiple industry awards along the way.

Away from his passion for photography, Martin enjoys spending time with his family. When not in their company, he does admit to spending perhaps a little too much time watching his beloved Somerset playing cricket, an activity which may now have been somewhat curtailed by the recent arrival of baby Oliver ...
